Mark Penna co-founded Emerald Creek Capital and serves as Co-Chairman of its Investment Committee in addition to overseeing risk management and client relations for the firm.
Before co-founding Emerald Creek in 2009, Mr. Penna spent eight years at Neuberger Berman. His portfolio management team, serving both institutional and high net worth clients, managed over $5 billion, one of the largest at the firm. During his time at Neuberger, he created and implemented various investment strategies, including credit and real estate investments. Mr. Penna began his career at a boutique asset management firm, founded by former Goldman Sachs executives, which focused on opportunistic equity and debt transactions.
Mr. Penna is experienced in advising family offices, foundations, and high net worth individuals on fixed income opportunities that align with their respective risk profiles. In his career, he has advised clients on over $7 billion worth of investment opportunities and has been a guest commentator on CNBC’s “The Strategy Session.”
Mr. Penna is a CFA Charterholder. He holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and an A.B. in Economics from Georgetown University, where he graduated cum laude. Mr. Penna resides in Manhattan with his wife and two children. His personal interests include skiing and traveling.
